We’ve just booked another weekend at the wonderful Blue Cottage which is nestled on the banks of beautiful Loch Awe in Argyll. We had a lovely weekend the first time we stayed there in November 2016 and we had great fun messing about in a boat on Loch Awe despite the freezing temperatures! The first snow of the Winter had just fallen so we had a beautiful mix of snow on the hills and lots of Autumn colour still on the trees. I LOVE the Blue Cottage, owner Jenny has done a fabulous job on the gorgeous Scandi style interior and her attention to detail is amazing. I’m afraid I didn’t take many pictures of the interior, the shot of the living area was taken just before we left – after we’d tidied up. It wasn’t looking picture perfect the rest of the weekend! The Blue Cottage is the perfect little hideaway, in a beautiful spot that feels lovely and remote but is only a couple of hours from Edinburgh. I can’t recommend it highly enough but I’m a little reluctant to do so because it’s one of those places that I’d really like to keep a secret! A shout out too to the fab Inver restaurant which a very cool little restaurant on the shores of Loch Fyne near Strachur, not too far from the cottage. You can hire boats from the friendly folk at Loch Awe Boats.
