Abby & Kenneth | Portobello wedding
Joppa parish church and Portobello beach micro wedding. Abby & Kenneth were married in October on their original wedding date but with much smaller numbers than they planned for and a complete change of venue, including an eleventh hour change of plan – the hotel they had booked closed its doors the day before the wedding. The ceremony took place at the lovely Portobello and Joppa Parish church, and with only 20 guests allowed inside, many of Abby and Kenneth’s friends and family gathered outside the church, which was really special. Family pup Cody was also there to witness his Mum & Dad’s big day!
After so many changes and and, at times, not knowing if they would be able to go ahead, it was a wonderful day filled with warmth, emotion and loads of fun. I had such a great day with this lovely couple who took it all in their stride. They were unruffled when Abby’s gorgeous dress ended up less than pristine, after a hug from an enthusiastic but extremely muddy child, and it turns out that Portobello beach’s wet sand makes a beautiful, delicate veil very soggy indeed! After the ceremony everyone headed to Wedgwood on the Royal Mile for drinks, dinner and cake and lot’s of laughs.
