Adam & Elisabeth | post wedding shoot | Leith & Stockbridge
Adam and Elisabeth were married in Elisabeth’s hometown in New Zealand, and wanted to celebrate their marriage with an intimate day together in their much loved adopted home of Leith. It was such a fun shoot with a super lovely couple who have a great connection.
We met for a drink at one of my favourite local spots, the very cool Browns of Leith , where we happened to bump into Adam and Elisabeth’s wedding ring designer, the lovely Gina Burgess, who has her studio in the building. Gina very kindly arranged for us to head upstairs into the wonderfully derelict space above the bar. It had the most beautiful light, along with all sorts of unexpected corners, textures and little pockets of atmosphere to photograph – cue one very excited photographer!
From there, we headed out onto the Shore and stopped for some photographs on the iconic blue bridge before making our way to Stockbridge. We wandered along Circus Lane and the Water of Leith path, taking our time and enjoying the neighbourhood as we went.
Naturally, there were a couple of important stops along the way including refeshments at Joelato (excellent ice cream!) and a stop at their friends’ place. They were away, so we took the opportunity to sneak onto their doorstep and create a few surprise photographs for them.
It was such a lovely way to spend the afternoon. Relaxed, fun and a little bit adventurous, taking in all their favourite spots.
