Dilene & Anjali | Calton Hill engagement

A surprise winter proposal at Calton Hill Edinburgh.

Edinburgh weather can be unpredictable in winter ( actually at any time of the year! ) but every so often it gifts you a moment of absolute magic. This proposal was one of those moments. Calton Hill delivered the most beautiful light, crisp, cold air, and a beautiful sunset. 

What Anjali didn’t know was that this had been weeks in the making. Dilene and I had been quietly plotting behind the scenes, coordinating timings, locations, and the exact spot where he wanted to ask the big question. There’s something so exciting about planning a proposal in secret, and seeing it all come together as Anjali said a very definite “yes” made the whole experience really special.

They were the sweetest couple to photograph, full of warmth, nerves, excitement, and that unmistakable look of two people who are exactly where they’re meant to be. Calton Hill, with the Edinburgh skyline stretched out behind them, felt like the perfect backdrop.
