Lauren & Jen | Monachyle Mhor
Lauren & Jen had a two part wedding celebration, a small family wedding at the very cool Monachyle Mhor hotel in Perthshire and a week later round two was dinner at Quay Commons and a party at The Old Dr Bells Baths in Leith. I arrived at Monachyle Mhor the morning of the wedding in absolutely torrential rain, the road to the hotel runs right alongside the loch and at times the road was under water, so I was happy to arrive without being swept away! The ceremony was to take place in a marquee on the lawn in front of the hotel but the ground was totally waterlogged so plan B was put into action at 8.30am that morning. By the time I arrived, Jen and Lauren’s family had pulled together and done an incredible job of turning the barn from drab to fab. Eventually the rain eased off and then stopped and in true Scottish style the sun was out by the time the ceremony started at lunchtime. The ceremony was really lovely, once I’d removed the resident sheep dog that snuck in to the barn and was running riot when the brides arrived. Just what’s needed when you’re trying to capture a once in a lifetime moment!!
I absolutely loved shooting this wedding, it was just a wonderful day to be a part of in a truly stunning part of the world.
