Megan & James | An Intimate Wedding at St Antony’s Chapel

Some places have a way of making a wedding feel even more special, and St Antony’s Chapel in Holyrood Park, is undoubtedly one of them. Surrounded by the natural beauty of the Scottish landscape, with the city just beyond, it provided a beautiful setting for Megan and James to celebrate their love story. St Antony’s Chapel is one of Edinburgh’s hidden gems. Perched above St Margaret’s Loch, the historic ruins sit beautifully within the rugged landscape of Holyrood Park, with Arthur’s Seat rising nearby.

It was a beautiful early autumn day, with the kind of fresh Scottish breeze that kept everyone on their toes! Originally from Australia, Megan and James have made Edinburgh their adopted home.

Edinburgh has a unique way of making even the smallest moments feel significant. From the historic architecture to the wild beauty of its surrounding landscape, it offers endless opportunities for couples looking for something a little different. Holyrood Park is particularly special, it’s dramatic scenery and sense of escape make it an ideal location for couples who want their wedding to feel personal, relaxed and connected to the outdoors.

For couples considering St Antony’s Chapel for their own wedding, it’s a wonderful location. The weathered stone ruins bring a sense of history and romance, while the surrounding landscape provides a stunning contrast of open space, greenery and rugged hills. Early autumn is a wonderful time to explore Edinburgh’s outdoor wedding locations. The changing season brings a different quality of light and atmosphere, while the fresh air and shifting skies give the landscape a distinctly Scottish feel. Of course, the weather can be unpredictable at any time of the year ! On Megan and James’s day, the wind was certainly a feature, adding movement and a little adventure to their photographs.
